Flood Warning until 01:15PM Sunday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes and southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax, Grayson, Smyth and Wythe.

* WHEN...Until 115 PM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 123 PM EDT, Emergency management reported flooding is ongoing. Between 6 and 15 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Boone, Wytheville, Galax, Marion, North Wilkesboro, Wilkesboro and Hillsville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
