* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Bland and Tazewell.

* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 614 PM EDT, Rainfall over the last 3 days continues to cause flooding. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Creek, Burkes Garden Creek, Bluestone River, Clinch River, Blue Spring Creek and Beech Fork. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bland, Richlands, Bluefield, Tazewell, Cedar Bluff, Burkes Garden and Ceres. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4.
