* WHAT...Flooding caused by runoff is occurring.
* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, McDowell.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1149 PM EDT, emergency management reported that stream levels are falling, and automated gauges indicate that portions of the Catawba River in McDowell County are now below bankfull. However, standing water remains in some locations, especially urban areas. Emergency management reported that efforts have shifted from swift water rescues to urban search and rescue at this time. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marion, Old Fort, Lake James, Lake James State Park, B.R. Parkway-Craggy To Little Switzerland, B.R. Parkway-Little Switzerland To Linville, Linville Falls, Pleasant Gardens, Sugar Hill, Glenwood, Woodlawn, Nebo, Fero, Busick, Little Switzerland, North Cove, Dysartsville and Ashford. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Your message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
