Incident:                      Subject Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Conspiracy
Occurred Date :           September 17th, 2024
Occurred Time:           10:58PM
Location:                      Howard St
Suspect:                      Christopher Caballero (19, Petaluma)

On Tuesday September 17th at approximately 10:58pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Howard St to a report of a female who was bleeding and shouting that she had been shot. The victim advised that the passenger subject in a blue vehicle shot multiple rounds at her from a BB gun which struck her in the hand. The victim attempted to flee to a neighboring backyard, at which time the suspect exited the vehicle, walked up to her, and shot her in the back of the head causing a puncture wound. The victim was transported to a hospital.

Officers accessed nearby surveillance video cameras and were able to locate the vehicle and driver of the vehicle, later identified as Christopher Caballero (19, Petaluma). Evidence was located inside the vehicle in plain view. Caballero was contacted and admitted to driving, although he has not identified the passenger subject.

Caballero was arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime, and assault with a deadly weapon. Petaluma Police Department Detectives and CSI team members are investigating and processing the evidence to secure identity of the additional suspect.
