SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 29, 2024, at approximately 7:13 PM, deputies from the Victorville Station, rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred in the area of La Mesa Road and Evelyn Court in Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a blue Kia Optima and an unidentified female were involved in a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Kia Optima remained on scene and cooperated with deputies. The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation.
La Mesa Road between Topaz Road and Mesa Linda Avenue was closed for several hours for the investigation.
