INCIDENT: PC288- Lewd Acts with a Minor, PC 245- Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 5600 block of Anaconda Drive, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Carlos Hernandez, 27-year-old male, resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY:
On Monday, September 30, 2024, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station received information Carlos Hernandez had repeatedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old victim. During that time, Hernandez also allegedly provided the victim with methamphetamine and marijuana. The victim’s mother confronted Hernadez regarding the sexual abuse. Hernandez held a knife to the mother's neck and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to law enforcement.
Deputies responded to a residence where these incidents allegedly occurred to investigate, but Hernandez refused to exit and barricaded himself inside. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Hernandez and a search warrant for the residence. Members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) responded to the scene. After a five-hour standoff, members from SED made entry into the residence and took Hernandez into custody.
