DATE/TIME: September 25, 2024 / 12:16 p.m.

INCIDENT: P.C. 459 - Vehicle Burglary

LOCATION: 2200 block of Olivine Drive, Chino Hills

SUSPECT(S): Yanco Maldonado, a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles
Jose Antonio Dominguez, a 35-year-old resident of Los Angeles

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the victim drove from Los Angeles to Chino Hills after picking up many jewelry items. The victim arrived home and walked inside. The victim returned to his vehicle five minutes later and found his rear window shattered. The jewelry and U.S. currency were stolen from inside the car.

Chino Hills detectives investigated and identified two suspect vehicles involved in the burglary. On Friday, September 27, 2024, Chino Hills detectives continued the investigation. Both suspect vehicles were stopped during traffic stops in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. Through investigation, Yanco Maldonado and Jose Dominguez, both residents of Los Angeles, were identified and arrested for vehicle burglary. They were booked at West Valley Detention Center.

The investigation showed that the suspects followed the victim from Los Angeles and targeted the vehicle because of the contents inside. This criminal technique is known as "Jugging." Often, criminals follow unsuspecting individuals from locations such as banks or ATMs with the intent to commit burglary. Chino Hills deputies urge the public to remain aware of their surroundings and not to leave valuable items unsecured in vehicles. If you believe you are being followed, vary your route and contact law enforcement.
