On September 26, 2024, at approximately 2:21 PM, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to the area of Mt. Sinai Dr. and Kuehner Dr. reference a motorcycle down call. Upon arrival of first responders, life saving measures were performed. The rider was subsequently transported to a local trauma center.
According to the initial information and the preliminary investigation it appears the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound Mt. Sinai Dr. west of Kuehner Dr. when the motorcycle left the roadway and crashed.
There was no indication of impairment by the rider and he sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. The roadway was closed for several hours to conduct the investigation. Several days later, on September 29, 2024, the rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The rider was identified as Frederick Wachter a 75-year-old male resident of Simi Valley,
