Reports of Pink Water
The City's Water Treatment Plant experienced an overfeed of Potassium Permanganate which has caused a pink hue to the City's water supply. The pink water is safe to use and drink, however, residents should avoid doing laundry until their faucets run clear. The Water Utility recommends that all consumers run their taps until the water runs clear prior to use. Potassium Permanganate is an oxidizer used to pre-disinfect the raw water supply prior to distribution.
