Press Release Motor Vehicle Accident Route 47
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 1515 hours, the Middle Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 47 N in the area of Bayway Marina located in the Goshen section of Middle Township. A preliminary investigation determined a white Subaru sport utility vehicle, was traveling northbound on Route 47. The driver attempted to make a left hand turn to enter the parking lot of Bayway Marina, turning in front of black Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Robert Pfaff III (40) of Villas NJ. As a result of the collision, Pfaff and his passenger, a 33-year-old female, were ejected from the motorcycle. Both Pfaff and the passenger were flown via helicopter to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division. Pfaff was pronounced deceased at ACMC. The passenger is currently in critical condition. Route 47 was closed for approximately 4 hours. This incident is still being investigated by the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit, the Middle Township Accident Investigation Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
Also assisting in the motor vehicle accident were the Goshen Fire Department, Court House Fire Department and AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Services.
