FREE Steering Wheel Locks Available for GT Residents Who Own Kia & Hyundai With Theft Vulnerability
Gloucester Township Police still has has plenty of FREE steering wheel locks available for our Gloucester Township, New Jersey residents who own a Kia or Hyundai that has been affected by the vulnerability in their ignition system which allows car thieves to start the vehicle using a USB device or cord.
This bright yellow device attaches to your steering wheel, which will hopefully deter a car thief from breaking the window, and is available if you received the anti-theft update from your dealer or not. Gloucester Township Police, and police across the country, have seen multiple auto theft incidents involving these specific car brands. The car thieves are taking advantage of a vulnerability in the ignition system, allowing them to start the vehicle using a USB device or cord. If the vehicle is locked, they will break a rear window to gain access.
