Hydrant Flushing will start next week beginning on Monday 10/07/24 between the hours of 8pm and 4am. 
As in every Fall, the Borough will transfer from its own well back to American Water. As part of this transfer, the Department of Public Works will conduct a comprehensive flushing of the water system next week, starting Monday, 10/07/24. This process will continue for several nights. Flushing will occur between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. to minimize impact on your home.
Residents may expect to see a temporary discoloration of the water and/or a decrease of pressure when flushing is occurring. We recommend that you avoid running your tap water or using the washing machine or diswasher between 8p.m. and 4 a.m. If you do experience discoloration, please run cold water through your your taps until they run clear.
