Advisory

JCMUA construction to close Marin Blvd on weekdays; Willow Ave. Bridge work continues next week; Updates to 15th St. RBD closures

JCMUA work to close Marin Blvd

The Jersey City Municipal Utility Authority (JCMUA) will continue work on the Hoboken-Jersey City water main interconnection project, to upgrade infrastructure that provides clean drinking water to residents of Hoboken and Jersey City, next week and will require the closure of Henderson Street/Marin Boulevard.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 7, contractors will be installing a water main on Henderson Street/Marin Boulevard. This will require the closure of Henderson Street/Marin Boulevard between Observer Highway in Hoboken and 18th Street in Jersey City from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic will be detoured onto Jersey Avenue and Grove Street. This construction is anticipated to last approximately three weeks.

Police Officers will be on site to assist with detours, traffic control, and pedestrian safety. Detour and variable messaging signs will also be in place ahead of the closures.

Hudson County Willow Avenue Bridge repairs continue

Hudson County has advised the City of Hoboken that emergency repairs on the Willow Avenue Bridge between Hoboken and Weehawken will continue next week.

The project, to repair the bridge expansion joints, will require lane shifts and lane width reductions in each direction on Willow Avenue, over the bridge during the work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction for the duration of the project.

Hudson County Sheriff’s Deputies will be on site to assist with traffic and pedestrian safety.

Updates to 15th Street RBD closures

As a reminder, 15th Street between Bloomfield and Park Avenue remains closed due to NJDEP construction of the Rebuild by Design – Hudson River project to mitigate coastal storm flooding.

Following community feedback, the City has updated the hours of school pick-up and drop-off zones on Bloomfield Street, which will now operate Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
