GPF Department of Public Safety wants to inform everyone of two upcoming events.
1. The Grosse Pointe South High School Homecoming Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight. The parade will originate in Grosse Pointe City and travel eastbound down Kercheval. The parade will end just past Fisher Road. During the parade, westbound Kercheval traffic will be diverted north down McKinley to Ridge Road. Fisher Road between Kercheval & St. Paul will be closed during this event. Traffic disruptions should only last 30-40 minutes before Kercheval is fully reopened,
2. Tomorrow (10/05/24), from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety will host an OPEN HOUSE at 90 Kerby Road. The event will showcase our fire apparatus, police vehicles, drone unit, detectives, dive team, Special Response Team, K-9, etc. Kerby Road between Kercheval & GP Blvd will be closed at 9:30 am for event setup. The roadway will reopen shortly after 3:00 pm. Residents residing near the Public Safety station will still have full access to their homes & driveways. Please come out and say hello.
