Two Suspects Arrested for Organized Retail Theft

Two suspects arrest after stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise for Target.

San Mateo, CA – On October 3, 2024, at 21:56 p.m., San Mateo Police Department received a report of a theft that just happened at Target, located at the Bridgepointe Shopping Center.  A Target employee said two suspects stole items and ran out of the store.  The suspects were last seen running through the parking lot toward Bridgepointe Parkway.

Multiple officers responded to the scene to look for the fleeing suspects.  After a few minutes of searching, officers located two people on the 2200 block of Bridgepointe Parkway, who matched the description of the suspects.  The suspects, Eden Marks and Ryan Murrell, were safely detained.

Officers started to investigate the crime and talk to witnesses and employees.  During the investigation, officers learned that Marks and Murrell entered Target and stole approximately $1,100 worth of merchandise from Target before running out of the store.  Officers found the stolen items hidden where Marks and Murrell were detained and returned the items to the store.  Marks and Murrell were arrested for burglary and organized retail theft.  Marks was also arrested for being in possession of illegal narcotics.  Marks and Murrell were transported and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
