INCIDENT: Lethal Force Encounter (LFE)
LOCATION: Snowden Avenue/Cardigan Place, Loma Linda
SUSPECT(S): Edward Jensen Dass, 39-years-old, Resident of Loma Linda
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at about 4:29 p.m., deputies from the Central Station responded to a residence in the 26300 block of Snowden Avenue, in Loma Linda, for an unknown problem. When the first deputy arrived, he encountered a male subject, identified as Edward Jensen Dass, holding a knife. The deputy made several commands for Dass to drop the knife while backing away from Dass. Dass continued toward the deputy and a lethal force encounter occurred. Deputies performed lifesaving measures; however, Dass was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. Dass was transported to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.
