Public Safety Open House Set to Take Place in Rancho Cucamonga on October 12, 2024

DATE/TIME: October 4, 2024

INCIDENT: Public Safety Open House 2024

LOCATION: 10595 Town Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:

The City of Rancho Cucamonga invites the community to the 2024 Public Safety Open House on Saturday, October 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fire District’s newest facility, Fire Station #178, 10595 Town Center Drive. This year’s event will feature a new format hosted by the City of Rancho Cucamonga’s Public Works Department, Police Department, and Fire District. It promises to be a fun-filled experience of education, entertainment, and safety demonstrations for the entire family.

For the first time, the City’s Public Safety departments are teaming up to offer opportunities for residents to engage with firefighters, deputies, and K9 units, learning how each works to keep Rancho Cucamonga safe. The event will feature first responder demonstrations, life-saving techniques, and tips on crime prevention and fire safety. The City’s Public Works Department will also have heavy equipment on display, offering insights into how they maintain the community.

A special highlight this year is the Ron Ives Bicycle Rodeo, where children will learn essential bicycle safety tips and practice their skills in an interactive environment. They will also have the opportunity to win prizes, including a bike and helmet. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Deputy Ron Ives’ line-of-duty death. Ron served with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for eight years and organized the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department’s Annual Bicycle Rodeo, which has been renamed “The Ron Ives Bicycle Rodeo” in his honor.

This is a great opportunity for families to meet your Rancho Cucamonga deputies and enjoy a day of community connection.
