NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Investigators responded to a shooting death investigation on the 800 block of S. Chester Ave., in the city of Compton. The incident was reported Saturday, October 5, 2024, at approximately 9:16 p.m.
Investigators have learned deputies from the Compton station responded to a 911 call regarding a gunshot victim. When deputies arrived, they were directed to a local hospital where the victim was transported to.
The victim, a male Black adult, was exiting a residence with his mother when the occupant(s) of a white sedan travelling southbound on the 800 block of S. Chester Ave. open fire, striking the male adult. The sedan sped off and out of view.
The victim was transported by a family member to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
