Alert
Hurricane Milton Advisory
Residents,
As Hurricane Milton gains strength and moves closer to the Florida coast, LHPPD will continuously monitor and prepare you for the storm.
A flood watch is in effect for the area with an expected 6-8 inches of rain over the next two days.
NE 39th St, West of Lighthouse Drive, is already seeing significant flooding. Please use caution when traveling through that area.
Some things you can do:
- Waste Management - WM continues to pick up bulk and regular trash today and tomorrow, refrain from cutting tree limbs, placing large areas of contractor debris, etc. so that the WM team has ample time to clear the entire City prior to the storm.
- Drive Carefully - If you must travel, exercise caution and reduce speed. With the possibility of flash flooding, we urge residents to avoid driving through flooded areas.
- Beware of Hazards - Be mindful of standing water, downed power lines, and fallen trees. Avoid these hazards and report any issues to the police department.
- Stay Informed - Keep up with local news for updates on weather conditions.
Instructions:
Drive carefully. Beware of Hazards. Stay Informed.
