Suspect arrested for a stolen vehicle with LoJack
On Monday, October 7, 2024, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department received a LoJack alert about a stolen vehicle near Erringer Rd. and Cochran St. The officers searched the area and located the car on the eastbound 118 Freeway. They followed the vehicle and stopped it on the Santa Susana Pass Rd. The driver, Jaymee Leanna Cabral, a 34-year-old resident of Whittier, CA, was arrested for unlawfully taking a vehicle and possession of a dangerous substance. She was booked at the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Main Jail. The car was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
The Simi Valley Police Department would like to remind the community to take precautions to avoid becoming a victim:
- Always keep your vehicle locked, even while driving.
- When parked, secure all the windows and the sunroof.
- Do not leave your keys in the vehicle.
- Never leave your car running and unattended.
- Be aware of your surroundings when parking your vehicle.
