On October 6, 2024, at approximately 3:45 PM, officers from the Janesville Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Washington Street in response to a report of an unresponsive male.
Upon arrival, officers found the male lying near the gazebo, where he had been discovered by an acquaintance who promptly called 911. Officers and paramedics immediately initiated life-saving measures; however, the individual was later pronounced deceased at the scene (Incident #JV2444748).
Today, at approximately 11:15 AM, officers from the Janesville Police Department were dispatched to the same area in response to a report of an unresponsive male found by a bystander.
Upon arrival, officers found the male under the gazebo. Officers and paramedics immediately evaluated for vital signs; however, the individual was later pronounced deceased at the scene (Incident #JV2445031).
In accordance with standard procedures, the Rock County Medical Examiner's Office, as well as detectives and evidence technicians from the Janesville Police Department, responded to the site to assist with both investigations. At this time, investigators have determined there are no signs of trauma or foul play involved in either incidents. There is no threat to public safety stemming from these incidents.
The identity of the decedents will not be released until the next of kin can be identified and notified. The investigations are currently ongoing.
