ALERT PINELLAS: Pinellas County Borders, Barrier Islands Reopened; Use Caution, Be Safe, Wait If Possible
ALERT PINELLAS: After assessing life-safety hazards, Pinellas County borders and barrier islands are reopened. Residents are advised to stay home if at all possible and to use extreme caution if they must absolutely head out on the road. Emergency response and road clearing crews continue their response and recovery work, which will be ongoing throughout the next several days. Be respectful of road crews and slow down at all work zones. Power still has not been restored to large parts of the county, which includes many traffic lights. If you must drive and approach a downed intersection, treat it as a four-way stop. Do not drive in flooded waters which could be exposed to live power lines, sewage and safety hazards. Turn around, don’t drown. For the latest updates on Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton recovery, to report damages, and safety information, see disaster.pinellas.gov.
