Wilmington Police arrest man in connection with burglary in-progress:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary in-progress.
On October 3, at approximately 8:12 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 600 block of West 25th Street in reference to a burglary in-progress. Upon arrival, police observed 44-year-old Victor Shipley exiting a residence in that block armed with a knife. Shipley was taken into custody without incident. Following an investigation, police discovered Shipley had forced entry into a residence in that block while armed with a knife, and physically assaulted a victim.
Shipley has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary (First Degree)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Kidnapping (First Degree)
- Assault (Second Degree)
- Theft Under $1,500
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
