Wilmington Police arrest man on gun and drug charges following investigation:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in September, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 800 block of Kirkwood Street. On October 3, at approximately 10:04 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in that block and took 42-year-old Randy Wright into custody without incident. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Philadelphia Pike. Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, a .45 caliber handgun, 76.44 grams of heroin, 4 grams of crack cocaine, 485.5 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Wright has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Four Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
