Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile on gun charges.
On October 3, at approximately 5:42 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 200 block of North Dupont Street when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with the male subject, who fled on foot and discarded a firearm. Following a brief foot pursuit, police took a 16-year-old male juvenile into custody without further incident.
The 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on $37,000 secured bail.
