Investigation Leads to Arrest of Suspects and Recovery of Stolen Property

INCIDENT: Commercial Burglary, Felon With a Firearm, Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy, and Felony Criminal Threats Warrant
LOCATION: 18000 block of Bloomington Avenenue, Bloomington CA 92324
SUSPECT(S): John Wooten, 54 years of age, resident of Colton
Jason Bissell, 40 years of age, resident of Colton
Desiree Naranjo, 36 years of age, resident of Colton
VICTIM(S): Multiple Confidential Victims
SUMMARY: On October 2, 2024, at approximately 8:13 a.m., Deputy Nunez responded to a commercial burglary at the 18000 block of Bloomington Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Bloomington. The victim's storage unit had been forced open and approximately $4,500 worth of property had been stolen. Nunez conducted a throrough investigation and obtained assistance from station detectives. During the course of the investigation, Nunez identified John Wooten and Jason Bissell as the suspects responsible for the commercial burglary. Nunez authored a search warrant for a residence located on the 600 block of West Olive Avenue in the city of Colton.
On October 10, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., investigators observed Wooten and Bissell leave the residence in a white pick up truck. They followed the vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop. Wooten and Bissell were taken into custody during the traffic stop without incident. Investigators returned to the residence located on the 600 block of West Olive Avenue and executed the search warrant.
During the service of the search warrant, investigators contacted Desiree Naranjo and detained her. Naranjo was discovered to have a felony warrant for a criminal threats investigation. Detectives searched the property and located stolen property linked to the initial commercial burglary in Bloomington, along with suspected stolen property from other burglaries. Three firearms, ammunition and a large amount of suspected methamphetamine were also located. Additionally, detectives located a stolen electric bicycle valued at $1,000, that was stolen in a separate commercial burglary that occurred on August 4, 2024, in the city of Bloomington.
Wooten had a felony warrant for commercial burglaries in Tulare, California. Investigators collaborated with the Tulare Police Department and successfully linked additional suspected stolen property from Wooten's residence to their commercial burglary cases. Wooten and Bissell were arrested for commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, being a convicted felon with a firearm, possession of narcotics, and conspiracy. Naranjo was arrested for a felony criminal threats warrant. All three were transported to West Valley Detention Center and booked for the above charges.
