ACCUSED: Alexander Colon 20 year old male of Newark, NJ

NARRATIVE:   On August 6th Officers responded to a residence on Highwood Road for a report of a residential burglary.  The victims reported that their home was entered by multiple subjects during the overnight hours and several items valued at over $20,000.00 were removed.
On August 23rd Officers responded to a residence on Parker Avenue for a report of a burglary.  The victim reported that multiple unknown suspects entered his residence and stole his vehicle that was parked on the street.
On August 26th Officers again responded to the same address on Highwood Road for a report of a possible burglary in progress.  When Officers arrived on scene several subjects fled the area.  Officers contacted the residents who advised that their home was once again entered while they were asleep, but nothing appeared to be missing.  It is believed that this home was targeted by the suspects due to the luxury vehicles that were parked in the victim’s driveway.
During the investigation of these burglaries, Detective Zachary Rhein was able to positively identify one of the suspects involved as Alexander Colon of Newark, NJ.  Colon was charged with several counts of Burglary, Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft, Conspiracy, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Burglar Tools.  Colon is currently being detained in the Bergen County Jail.  This investigation is ongoing in an attempt to identify the other suspects that were involved.
