Extensive Vandalism Investigation Leads to the Arrest of a Phelan Man Found in Possession of Multiple Firearms

LOCATION: Veterans Armory, 3936 Phelan Road #B13, Phelan

SUSPECT: Gregory Stephen Lamb, 69 years of age, resident of Phelan


SUMMARY: On Friday, September 27, 2024, at 8:42 a.m., Deputy J. Ballinger responded to the report of vandalism at Veterans Armory in Phelan. According to the owner, the business had been vandalized on multiple occasions. The suspect placed an epoxy substance on the lock of the entry door breaking the lock. They also sprayed an adhesive with the intention of covering the surveillance cameras. 

During the investigation, Deputy Ballinger was able to identify the suspect as Gregory Stephen Lamb. On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:47 a.m., detectives and deputies from the Victor Valley Station, with the assistance of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Specialized Enforcement Division (SED), served a search warrant at Lamb’s residence in the 5300 block of Avenal Street in Phelan.

During service of the warrant, Lamb was found in possession of 38 firearms, including AR-15 assault rifles, and home manufactured, unserialized guns. High-capacity magazines of various styles, an illegal suppressor to silence a gun, 75,000 to 100,000 rounds of ammunition, and flechette dart ammunition were located. 

Gregory Stephen Lamb, who was also wanted on outstanding felony warrants for vandalism and terrorist threats, was arrested without incident and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
