Narrative:
On October 4th, 2024, at 1509 hours, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff Office, East County Patrol and Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Investigations Bureau responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 800 block of Bellina Court in Thousand Oaks.  Prior to this call for service, there were two other residential burglaries reported earlier that afternoon in the same general neighborhood.  Sheriff’s personnel set up a large perimeter and 3 suspects were ultimately taken into custody.  Through the investigation, detectives were able to establish the three suspects were also responsible for an attempted residential burglary and the additional residential burglary that were reported earlier that day.  These suspects are also believed to be responsible for additional residential burglaries committed in the city of Thousand Oaks, earlier this year.  The investigation into those crimes is ongoing by the East County Investigations Bureau - Commercial Residential Burglary Unit.

Once the suspects were taken into custody, detectives with the Commercial Residential Burglary Unit contacted detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department, Ventura Police Department and Oxnard Police Department and learned that all these allied agencies had active burglary investigations involving this same burglary crew.  Through a collaborative effort, detectives from the involved agencies were able to establish probable cause to arrest the three suspects for several additional counts of residential burglary in their respective cities.

Corredor-Fernandez was booked into the Ventura County Jail for burglary, possession of a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy.  Gama-Fernandez was booked into the Ventura County Jail for burglary, and criminal conspiracy.  Moreno was booked into the Ventura County Jail for burglary and criminal conspiracy.  Correrdor-Fernandez, Gama-Fernandez, and Moreno remain in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail each.

The arrest of these suspects was made possible by the citizens of Thousand Oaks in their quick decision to call the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office to report these crimes.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office reminds the citizens of Thousand Oaks that our city is an extremely safe community.  However, this sense of safety is occasionally exploited by the criminal element.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious people and vehicles by promptly calling 911 or our non-emergency line of (805) 654-9511. If you see something, say something.

The East County Investigations Bureau continues to combat property crimes through keeping the community informed of current crime trends while aggressively pursuing and arresting those that chose to do us harm.
