Police Seek Help Identifying Business Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

At approximately 5:56 a.m., a blue Dodge Caravan bearing New Jersey license No. W25UWS pulled into the Exxon Gas Station in the 300 block of Springfield Avenue and the driver requested $5.00 worth of gas. After charging the suspect’s credit card, the suspect accused the attendant of overcharging his card. An argument ensued, and four females and one additional male suspect engaged in the altercation, striking the victim, while taking $100.00 from him.

The suspects fled the scene in two different vehicles. The blue Dodge Caravan has been recovered. The second vehicle is described as a gold or tan Buick in bearing dealer plates, DWL-38, and an out of state inspection sticker on the windshield. This vehicle has front end, driver side damage, with the entire front bumper showing damage.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of the Buick or the identity of either of these suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
