* WHAT...Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* WHERE...Avery, Buncombe, Burke Mountains, McDowell Mountains,
Mitchell, Rutherford Mountains, and Yancey Counties. (Including Crooked Creek, Old Fort, Pleasant Gardens, Woodlawn, Little Switzerland, and Ashford North Cove.)
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Winds of this magnitude may blow down trees or limbs that were damaged by
Helene back in late September, putting recovery crews at risk.
Scattered power outages may occur.
