Activity for October 11-13, 2024. Officers responded to 225 calls for service, made 14 arrests, and 33 traffic stops.

October 11, 2024:

  • Officer Bean was dispatched to the 200 block of West Louis Glick Highway for a stolen vehicle report. The vehicle was located in the 700 block of West Michigan Avenue, along with another vehicle reported stolen. Both vehicles were returned to the owners.
  • Officers responded to the 300 block of East Prospect Street for disorderly subjects. Charges will be sought on a 60-year-old male for impersonating a police officer.
  • Officer Hogan visited with students at Northeast Elementary.
  • Officer Jones was dispatched to the 1200 block of South West Avenue for a vehicle that struck a building. Multiple subjects fled from the vehicle on foot. The driver has been identified; charges will be sought on a 41-year-old male for leaving the scene of an accident.
  • Officer Simon responded to East Michigan Avenue and North Van Dorn Street for a personal welfare check. A 38-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • Officer Mills conducted a traffic stop near Cooper Street and Leroy Street. The 34-year-old female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated – 2nd offense.
  • Sergeant Mosier was in the 100 block of East Michigan Avenue when he heard several shots fired. A 35-year-old male was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, and reckless discharge.
  • Officer Mills was dispatched to Lansing Avenue and Ganson Street for a traffic crash. Two subjects fled on foot, but were quickly apprehended. The 24-year-old male driver was arrested for domestic assault; resisting and obstructing; driving while intoxicated; and conditional bond violation. A 23-year-old female was arrested for resisting and obstructing, and conditional bond violation.
  • Officer Farnsworth responded to the 200 block of North East Avenue for a domestic assault report. Officers have been unable to locate the 35-year-old male suspect.
  • Officer Panther was dispatched to a domestic dispute in the 1200 block of Greenwood Avenue. The 27-year-old male suspect left prior to officers’ arrival, and has not been located.
October 12, 2024:      
  • Officer Hogan responded to the 1200 block of West Michigan Avenue for a domestic dispute. A 28-year-old female was arrested for domestic assault and conditional bond violation.
  • Officer Tripp investigated an assault that occurred in the 500 block of West Trail Street. A 34-year-old male was arrested for aggravated assault; resisting and obstructing; conditional bond violation; and parole violation.
  • Officer Mills responded to a traffic crash near South East Avenue and East Washington Avenue. The 39-year-old male driver was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • Officer Soloman was dispatched to East Cortland Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a personal welfare check on a subject in a vehicle. The 49-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
  • Officer Farnsworth responded to West Louis Glick Highway and North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a vehicle on the railroad tracks. The 41-year-old male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated – high blood alcohol content.
October 13, 2024:
  • Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North West Avenue for an assault. A 35-year-old female was arrested for domestic assault.
  • Officer Fugate responded to the 500 block of North State Street for a warrant pick-up. A 62-year-old female was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
  • Officer Fugate and Cadet Robinson attended the CROP Hunger Walk downtown.
  • Officer Mills was dispatched to Warwick Court for a disorderly subject. A 25-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
  • Officer Soloman conducted a traffic stop near East Wilkins Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Two occupants fled on foot, and were not located. Charges will be sought on a 17-year-old female for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
  • Officer Farnsworth made contact with a subject at First Street and Union Street. The 54-year-old female was arrested for resisting and obstructing, and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
