LOCATION: 13000 block of 5th Street, Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Steven Maine, 32-year-old resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On October 9, 2024, deputies responded to a report of a male and female fighting near 5th Street and Wildwood Canyon Road. They found a female adult and Steven Maine hiding in the bushes near a vacant residence on 5th Street. Maine had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. During a pat-down, deputies found a loaded extended 9mm Glock magazine in his possession. A search of the bushes revealed a loaded 9mm Glock handgun, which was unserialized, also known as a "Ghost Gun". Additionally, Maine had brass knuckles, a large hunting knife, methamphetamine, and a scanner tool used for garage doors and vehicles.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for Maine's residence and found a 3D printer used for making unserialized polymer gun parts, several "Ghost Gun" Glock handgun lowers, two AR-15 rifle lowers, and evidence of identity and mail theft in Maine's bedroom. Maine, a convicted felon, was arrested for several felony charges and his outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, where his bail is set at $65,000.
