Green Bay Police Investigate Fatal Main Street Crash; Pedestrian Deceased
The Green Bay Police Department is investigating a fatal weekend crash on Main Street involving a pedestrian who was struck by a service van while attempting to cross the street.
Officers were dispatched on Friday, October 11, 2024, to the 1100 block of Main Street just after 11:15 p.m. for a pedestrian, a 29-year-old Eaton man, who was found lying in the roadway. This person was transported to a local hospital for treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries. Then on Sunday, October 13, 2024, this person died as a result of injuries sustained.
The driver of the van is employed by a service provider contracted by Green Bay Metro and is not a city employee. Our initial investigation indicates that neither the driver’s speed nor alcohol were a factor in the crash. The driver was cooperative and remained on the scene with the police.
Currently, no citations have been issued.
