Santa Maria Police investigating fatal traffic collision. 
On 10/13/24 at 1305 hours, SMPD Officers responded to the 600 block of West Cypress to a call of a vehicle striking a 1-year-old. The child was transported to Marian Medical Center and, despite lifesaving efforts, was pronounced as deceased. The SMPD Traffic Bureau responded and took control of the investigation, which is still underway. The SMPD Traffic Bureau is requesting anyone with information call 805-928-3781 extension 2315 for Officer Robles, or extension 1355 for Officer Rhoads.
