LOCATION: 14000 block of Castille Street, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Bernell Turner, 38-year-old Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 35-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 2:54 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the 14000 block of Castille Street for reports of a person who was shot.
When deputies arrived, they observed an active fight between multiple people. Deputies identified the suspect of the shooting, Bernell Turner, who was taken into custody. Deputies rendered aid to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
The victim and Turner had an argument at the incident location. During the argument, Turner produced a black handgun from his waistband, which led to a physical altercation between the victim, a witness and Turner. During the altercation, the firearm was discharged, and the victim was struck. Turner was found to have an active warrant for his arrest and was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.
Bernell Turner was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 664/187- Attempted Murder, P.C. 245(A)(2)- Assault with a Firearm on a Person, P.C. 245(A)(4)- Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Great Bodily Injury, P.C. 29800(A)(1)- Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and P.C. 69(A)- Obstructing an Officer.
