Queen Charged with Possession of Meth
Detective David Jones with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged 27-year-old Tequila Cheyenne Queen of Granite Falls with felony Possession of Methamphetamine. Queen was given no bond due to already being out on bond for unrelated crimes.
On September 24, Detective Jones was leaving the McDowell County Sheriff's Office when an SUV pulled into a public parking spot. As it passed, Jones detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana and recognized the passenger to be Queen. Queen, along with driver and an additional passenger, were asked to exit the vehicle. Upon questioning, Queen surrendered a clear plastic bag with a suspected amount of methamphetamine and was taken into custody.
