Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.
On October 13, at approximately 1:25 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop in the 100 block of North Adams Street. Police made contact with a rear passenger – 21-year-old Daunte Williams, who was observed to be in possession of a firearm. Williams was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun that had previously been reported stolen.
Williams has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
