Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of October 7-13, 2024
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were three robberies and one attempted robbery during the past week.
On Friday, 10-11-24, at approximately 12:42 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bank of America on Gellert Boulevard on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that after parking on the 400 block of Lakeshire Drive, as he exited his vehicle, he noticed a black SUV stopping beside him. The passenger approached and asked the victim for gas money. The victim handed over $16, which was all he had. However, the suspect said $16 was not enough and asked the victim to go to the bank to withdraw more money. The suspect then entered the victim’s vehicle. While driving to the bank, the suspect demanded $1,000 and claimed that the driver of the SUV, the second suspect who was following them, had a gun. Fearing for his safety, the victim withdrew $1,000 from the drive-thru ATM and handed it to the suspect. The suspect asked to be dropped off at the SUV, which was parked next to the drive-thru ATM. As the suspect exited the victim’s vehicle, the suspect said, “Thank you,” and offered to shake the victim’s hand. The victim, feeling obligated, shook the suspect’s hand. The suspect then tried to place a watch and ring onto the victim’s hand, which the suspect tried to offer the victim during the ride as compensation. Although the victim tried to refuse the counterfeit watch and ring, the suspect insisted. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. Later, officers located the SUV in the Home Depot parking lot on Lake Merced Boulevard. While there, the second suspect approached another individual, placing a ring and bracelet onto the person’s hand and demanding $300 for the jewelry. When the individual declined, the second suspect demanded $200 instead. The individual refused again and returned the jewelry back to the second suspect. As this was occurring, officers arrived and arrested the two suspects. Both suspects, 19-year-old New York residents, were booked into jail for robbery and other offenses.
On Saturday, 10-12-24, at approximately 3:47 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Flournoy Street on a report of a battery. The victim and a known suspect were involved in an altercation, during which the suspect took the victim’s necklace and fled.
On Sunday, 10-13-24, at approximately 2:45 a.m., two suspects exited a black vehicle, brandished switchblade knives, and robbed a victim of his cell phone and wallet containing $300 at the Junipero Serra Boulevard overpass, north of Washington Street. The victim described the first suspect as a White male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, a beige hoodie, and green sweatpants. The second suspect was described as a White male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, wearing a black baseball cap and white shoes.
On Saturday, 10-12-24, at approximately 6:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to Serramonte Center, outside near Dave & Buster’s, on a report of a battery. Four suspects followed a victim and a friend in an attempt to take the victim’s jewelry. Eventually, an altercation ensued between the suspects and victims, during which the victims were punched and thrown. The four suspects, ages 13, 15, and two aged 14, all San Francisco residents, were arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for attempted robbery, battery, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
