Market St. Corridor Reconstruction & Streetscape Improvements
Phases 1 through 5 work continues.  Roadway and sidewalk demolition continues and is expected to continue for the coming weeks.
 
Throughout the week of October 21st, Upstate Companies will be installing curbing and sidewalk on the north side of Market Street from Main Street to the Chestnut Street intersection and installing sidewalk on the south side of Market Street from Main Street to the Foothills Performing Arts Center.  Vehicular traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the construction.  If vehicular traffic in this area is necessary, please use caution and maintain safe operating speeds.  Access will be maintained at the Foothills Performing Arts Center for early voting between October 26^th to November 4^th.
 
Planter construction on the south side of Market Street across from Chestnut Street will continue.
 
On the north side of Market Street, sidewalks from Sidney Federal Credit Union to Rowe Auto Service are open for use.  On the south side of Market Street, sidewalks from Foothills Performing Arts Center to James Georgeson Ave are open except for the western driveway of Stella Luna. Sidewalk curb ramps are not handicap accessible due to minor drop-offs at the curb-roadway interface, caution is advised.
 
Pedestrians are encouraged to avoid sidewalks under construction, and use available, open sidewalks. Bicycle and vehicular traffic are to obey the temporary traffic signals while there are active lane closures.  Work limits will be approximately between Main Street and James Georgeson Ave. 
 
All businesses will remain open.  Pedestrian and vehicular access to the businesses will be maintained at all times, as practicable. The public should continue to utilize the detour routes unless their destination is on Market Street.
