Wilmington Police arrest man on drug charges, recover stolen vehicle:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges and recovered a stolen vehicle.
On October 17, at approximately 10:49 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 700 block of North Adams Street when they observed a stolen vehicle. Police attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in that block, at which time the vehicle disregarded and fled the area. A short time later, the vehicle was located in the area of West 7th and Morrow Streets where the driver of the vehicle fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, 38-year-old Deshon Worrell was taken into custody without further incident. Police recovered 60 grams of crack cocaine, 2.67 grams of heroin, and 28 grams of marijuana.
Worrell has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500
- Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal
- Reckless Endangering (Second Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – Three Counts
