Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the two pictured males, who are persons of interest in a robbery on October 8, 2024.
The incident occurred around midnight after two men left a convenience store near South 10th Street and 14th Avenue. Two males approached the victims demanding money. One of the suspects, brandishing a weapon, struck one of the victims in the face and head. The victim did not give up his money and the suspects left, walking westbound on 14th Avenue. When they reached the 200 block, the suspect with the weapon fired the handgun. Police officers responded, located a 9mm casing, and talked with the victims who approached them about the robbery.
Suspect #1 with the gun was wearing all dark clothing and a black mask, and Suspect #2 was wearing a red sweater with a blue mask.
