Police Seek Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the male pictured below in connection with a package theft that occurred on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
A resident at Valley Street near West End Avenue reported that a package delivered to the residence was stolen at approximately 2:45 p.m. The male suspect was observed on video surveillance footage removing the victim’s package.
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Hispanic male with a light complexion wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt with an emblem on the top left chest area. He was also wearing dark-colored pants and a black winter beanie cap featuring a white smiley face logo with “x” in both eye slots. This suspect is known to frequent Union Supermarket, in the 900 block of 18th Avenue.
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
