Officers responded to an area business on a shoplifting call. They located the suspect nearby and detained him. The suspect was in possession of a gun and stolen property. ARRESTED: Taylor Vasquez, 32, for theft, possession of stolen property, weapons charges, and warrants.
2. Carjacking (2200) 3600 Block of East Hammer Lane, Valley Oak District
The male victim, 37, was in the area of the call location. The suspect vehicle pulled alongside the victim, and two suspects exited. One suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded the victim's car. The victim complied, and the suspect fled in the victim's vehicle. SUSPECTS: Two Hispanic males, wearing dark clothing.
