Official Statement from the Simi Valley Police Department/City of Simi Valley in reference to recent land deed inquiries.

Recently, the Simi Valley Police Department and the City of Simi Valley were made aware of inquiries regarding water right easements dating back several decades. After careful review, it has been determined that this is not a matter for the City or the Police Department. The situation involves the legal preservation of water transmission easements by the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood, and all actions taken, including recordings filed at the Ventura County Recorder’s Office, have been carried out legally and were done in order to preserve legal interests in the referenced water right easements.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office looked into this matter in 2023 and found no criminal activity. The documents in question, which include a Quitclaim deed related to the transmission easements in Simi Valley, were properly approved by Ventura County’s legal counsel and recorded by the Ventura County Recorder’s Office.

There has been no harm caused to any residents of Simi Valley or Moorpark as a result of these actions. Currently, this matter does not require any action from the City of Simi Valley or the Police Department.  This notification is for informational purposes only.
