Campbell Police Recent Arrest of Public Storage Burglary
On October 18th at approximately 1:37 AM, CPD was dispatched to Public Storage on Curtner Ave following a report of a possible break-in. This location has a history of burglaries, with suspects often gaining access to storage units through the roof.
Upon arrival, officers began to clear the roof of one of the storage buildings. While clearing the area, a male suspect, later identified as Frank Bazan, 47 years old transient, jumped from the roof and attempted to flee despite officers' commands. Further search of the roof revealed 3 backpacks containing knives, and various burglary tools as well as a section of the roof where the aluminum ceiling was cut open.
Responding officers established a perimeter with aid from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and the Los Gatos Monte Sereno Police Department. Bazan was located by our officers in a nearby porta potty where he was arrested without further incident.
Bazan was arrested on charges of burglary, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, being in violation of the terms of a previous post release community supervision order, and possession of pepper spray, a taser, and concealed dirk/dagger as a felon. Bazan’s extensive criminal history includes prior instances of burglary and robbery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of stolen property. Bazan remains in custody.
