SUSPECT(S): Cythina Marie Alderson, 38-year-old Female Resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at approximately 7:41 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the Morongo Basin Station, responded to reports of a female with a firearm in the area of Airway Avenue and Primrose Drive. When deputies arrived, they located Cynthia Alderson, who matched the suspect description. Alderson was found sitting near a business with a firearm and ammunition scattered around her. Through investigation, deputies learned the firearm was stolen by Alderson earlier in the day.
Alderson had multiple prior felony convictions and was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition. Alderson was arrested for PC 29800(a)(1)- Felon Possession of a Firearm, PC 30305(a)(1)- Possession of Ammunition as a Felon, and PC 487(d)(2)- Theft of a Firearm. Alderson was booked at Morongo Basin jail, with bail set at $30,000.
