Police Seek Help Identifying Aggravated Assault Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help identifying the female pictured below in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
 
At approximately 9 p.m., Police responded to a report of an incident that occurred inside a business located in the 700 block of South Orange Avenue. The female victim was punched in the back of her head by another female whom she doesn’t know. After the victim fell to floor, the suspect stomped her until the victim ran out of the business. Once outside, the suspect punched the victim multiple times before she was able to break free and run away.
 
Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as 5’6” tall with a medium build and wearing her hair in long brown braids. Her clothing consisted of khaki pants, a khaki-colored shirt, and a blue wind-breaker jacket. She is known by the nickname of “TT” and frequents the area of South Orange Avenue and Cedar Avenue.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
