SUBJECT: Elder Abuse & Weapons Violations Arrest
INCIDENT LOCATION: 100 Block Cypress Street, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: October 22, 2024, Approximately 8:00 A.M.
On 10/22/24 at approximately 8:00 A.M. Redwood City Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Cypress Street in Redwood City on the report of a woman who was locked out of her home by her 50 year old son. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the 73 year old victim who had visible injuries. The victim stated she was in an argument with her 50 year old son Savalas McKibben, McKibben assaulted the victim and the victim called the police. Officers located McKibben in the backyard of the residence. He was detained without incident.
A records check revealed McKibben is currently on San Mateo County Probation. A probation search of his bedroom revealed the following contraband: un-serialized firearm with ammunition and high capacity magazine, additional handgun ammunition, rifle ammunition, various firearms parts and suspected controlled substance (narcotics).
McKibben was placed under arrest and later booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for the following charges: PC 368(B)(1) – Elder Abuse, PC 30605(A) – Possession of Assault Weapon, PC 29815(A) – Prohibited Person Possess Firearm, PC 30305(A)(1) – Prohibited Person Possess Amunition, HS 11370.1 – Possess Controlled Substance while Armed, and other weapons offenses.
