City of New Port Richey Nears Completion of First Pass for Household Debris Pickup; Second and Final Pass Anticipated to Begin Next Week

New Port Richey, Florida – In response to the impact of Hurricane Helene, the City of New Port Richey is nearing completion of the first pass of household debris pickup. The City anticipates beginning the second and final pass next week, therefore to ensure that all debris resulting from the storm is removed from residential areas residents are encouraged to have any remaining storm debris ready for collection, as there are two contractors for household debris removal allowing two sections of the City to be cleared simultaneously. Residents can monitor the City’s website for daily updates on the progress of debris removal efforts.

Additionally, Public Works crews are actively collecting yard debris in parallel to the household debris efforts. A separate Yard Debris Map is being updated more frequently to reflect progress on debris removal from Hurricane Milton.

For question or concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at 727-841-4536.

The City extends its appreciation to the community for their cooperation and patience as recovery efforts continue.
